Ha, yeah. There was nothing like youtube when I was learning in the 90s, but I had pages and pages of diagrams and stuff that I had hand-copied from websites because I didn't own a printer.
I did the same. Only had dial up internet so we'd write down the tabs and mostly learn from other friends that played. Technology's great of course but there was something about having to work to get the tabs or music advice you wanted without it being spoon feed to you. My fav band is the stones and in the 60's they were ground breaking. But if you play their songs now it was all so simple. Open g tuning typical chord progressions but back then that was innovative. Wish i was born in 1945 with my music knowledge in the uk and took over the world
