What's to say that Cookie Monster doesn't have a strict dietary condition in which cookies are the only thing sustaining him? What if he's caving into societal pressures at the cost of his own health? Will you take responsibility when Cookie Monster withers away to a shadow of his former self, and likely thrown away into whatever moldy bin Don Music's and Mr Hooper's remains likely now reside?

I think it was reasonable... he explicitly represented gluttonous behavior in a country with a severe obesity epidemic (which is becoming a global epidemic that has been correlated multiple times with the spread of fast food/western eating habits)

Jaded @Jaded I will still eat cookies with you.
I didn't actually buy cookies today, I have candy corn and whatever cookie butter is. (I impulse bought it cause I saw someone say it was good.)

Maybe these kids will grow up and remember that Cookie Monster taught them moderation. My Sesame Street days have long been gone.

Little children should have parents telling them Sesame Street isn't real life.
The problem with this notion is I watched everything as a child because my parents didn't care and now here I am chilling on the internet working for myself for pennies on the dollar. I did really well in school though, even with watching all of those shows. Poor children going to have issues though when they grow up and realize that their fav dinosaur Barney is really bad, and that cartoons are for ADULTS.

Not always possible to separate fiction from reality for the little ones... For instance, it's really hard to convince my daughters that Frozen is not real when the local Mormon temple looks like it actually is a damn ice castle...

So we just roll with it.... EDIT: Or better yet, we just LET IT GO! LET IT GOOOOO!!! (Missed the obvisous bad joke the first time around)
