In all fairness, I think my kitty (male) had a congenital problem of a shortened urethra. It could be controlled with drugs but it wasn't fun. The kidney problem is common in males I think in one form or another especially if they are neutered and it is so frightening.Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that! My little guy had a similar issue, though they didn't offer that type of surgery. They had to remove the stones and crystals and then get him on a strict diet. All is well now, but it was heartbreaking to almost lose him. And about $4k when all was said and done, whew. Thank you for being a super-responsible pet owner! Here's hoping they reschedule the study to a convenient time soon!
