I agree. If those consoles had a faster CPU, I'm certain 1080p 60fps would not be a problem. But the downside is, the console would probably cost more and Microsoft/Sony already knows most of their customer base is more concerned with high graphics than high frame rates. That's why they always try to market the ubiquitous "4K".

Call me crazy but I an hardly tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps. On the consoles they use flame blending techniques (along with other techniques) to make 30fps appear very smooth.

If we were playing a source engine game on the PC at 30fps it would appear very choppy because of the way the engine handles each frame.

In my experience some games look great at 30fps, some choppy.

In my experience some games look great at 30fps, some choppy.

I never heard of flame blending. I thought they were using some sort of V-synch to stabilize the frame rate but I'm not sure how developers do it on console. Also, I think some games look better on console b/c people typically play console games further away from the screen while PC games are usually played closer to the screen.

Lastly, it depends on what you are playing. Bravely Default/Dragon Quest wouldn't look as bad at 30fps because those are turned based games and the camera usually does not move that much. On the other hand, Call of Duty would be more difficult to play at 30fps because of the reaction time required to do things such as shoot at moving targets or simply turning the camera.
