Trying to be calm about it. I updated all my work stuff first, so that's set. It's gonna be fine, take each list item one at a time.

just scary is hte thought of losing an email with 10 years of history.
Where did you read that it was just going to dissappear?Trying to be calm about it. I updated all my work stuff first, so that's set.
Now I just have to deal with my credit cards and my student loan servicer, so I shouldbe okay...just scary is hte thought of losing an email with 10 years of history.
So far as I have read, it won't be affected at all.So are we sure that Yahoo mail is shutting down or is it an assumption and the anxiety that follows?
Don't freak out, Yahoo isn't disappearing as a company. The Altaba thing is different from Yahoo's core business, it's basically an investment company for some of the other holdings Yahoo has. But their main business is still there, and Yahoo might be bought out by Verizon soon, but it's not like they're gonna shut down the servers and everything else from one day to the other.I have a list of about 10 seriously important things I have to update from yahoo. So I'm trying not to cry and panic.
I doubt Verizon just spent billions of dollars to lose all their customers. So are we sure that Yahoo mail is shutting down or is it an assumption and the anxiety that follows?

Woah, a serious post. Shit just got real.Don't freak out, Yahoo isn't disappearing as a company. The Altaba thing is different from Yahoo's core business, it's basically an investment company for some of the other holdings Yahoo has. But their main business is still there, and Yahoo might be bought out by Verizon soon, but it's not like they're gonna shut down the servers and everything else from one day to the other.
People make fun of Yahoo but it's still a valuable company and they gets an immense amount of traffic, it's not just going to vanish next week.
Thanks?I doubt Verizon just spent billions of dollars to lose all their customers.
I use yahoo and I sure now that I've said this everything will be shut down and my account will be banned tomorrow.
I realize it won't just up and vanish, but the fact it COULD do this is scaring me a horrificly unreasonable amount. Even if the server just changes I'd have to update that...so I'm still a little shaky. I get shit tons of important emails. It's the main way my father communicates with me, and also the main way 90% of my work contacts communicate with me. So it's really really stressful to think that of the five I hvae, one may change on little notice.Don't freak out, Yahoo isn't disappearing as a company.
