Hey everyone, been in the real world today.
Before I left I did a $2 chat HIT with a stupid short timer, it expired on me but I still had the page up from the survey so I entered the completion code. MTS hit tracker added the work to the total, however when I got back and synced hit tracker it was no longer showing and is not showing in the dashboard. I have contacted the requester.
My question is what do y'all do when the timer has expired?
If it's worth it to me, and it usually is I suppose, I message the requester, with any info I have (HIT name / ID, time I attempted to complete it, completion code, worker ID, and if I have a reasonable one, an excuse as to why I didn't submit it on time.
Alternatively, if you can catch it again, some HITs/requesters are okay with you catching another HIT, to enter the submission code from the first. YMMV, but it's worth messaging the requester about if you think this would work for you. I have done it a few times, only when I'm certain though that the HIT page is not unique to a specific individual task.
Edit* common outcomes for me, are being able to do a makeup HIT, or have a bonus for the compensation I missed added to the next HIT I do for the requester, or being able to / asked to accept another of their HITs and enter the completion code in that.
