Grandma didn't take you to see Gone With the Wind? Lucky. I had to sit through the movie and read the book.

Oh, I saw it. I didn't like it much as a kid - but I watched it with my daughter a few years ago and omg - it's terrible. I could barely sit through some of those scenes.

But as for the word - if you're from the North you don't think in those terms, anymore. (Or at least I didn't).

I haven't really thought about truthfully in years. I think I heard it when I moved to Texas but they were calling others worse so I ignored it. Now I guess the only time I really hear the term is Golden Girls and Blanche as the joke.
