They actually do work at specific intersections (ones that have actuated signal controls attached to them) during periods the traffic engineer has set them to be active, usually off peak hours.

Don't get too hung up on your PE for those first 500 or so HITs! That's a pretty solid day for your first week! Focus on getting in as many easily approved HITs as possible for this time, it will open up better paying HITs much quicker. A lot of people might disagree with me, but I used that probationary period to do a lot of p9r's and anything that would go quickly and be safe for approval

Good call! Hitting milestones for HITs really opens things up for you. 500 and 1000 both open up a whole new world for you

I will suggest that you do not do p9r (I am pretty sure that is what you meant). they have tendancy to reject for BS reasons.

Also put Venue quality and Ben Peterson on a panda.They post throughout the day and help build numbers. I don't have them handy right now, but I'm sure some good person here does.

No, I actually e-mailed and Mturk messaged twice throughout the study with questions, and never heard back. So that's not a good sign. I'm assuming they're well intentioned and just unaware how this process works. I guess the HIT sitting in the cue for a week should have been our first clue.
