Everyone should try to put aside a little money for emergencies. (Like windows getting broken). Maybe just $5 a month at first?
It is just a smart thing to do.

I should clarify...I put money into savings every single month. Savings, retirement, son's college fund. I have a few savings accounts with cash in them. All of that comes out of my budget. I really don't make a large salary at my job at all (it pays medical and cellphone, though, so that is huge). She wants me to find $50 more specifically for future house repairs (she knows about the other savings accounts, too...)

So I totally agree with you, and am already doing that to the tune of a few hundred a month
