I don't hate prolific, but mturk generally pays better for surveys. Also, I get penalized on prolific for doing the lower paid stuff, since they prioritize sending stuff to people who do fewer surveys (afaik), so it's not like saying that their requesters should post minimum wage surveys really makes it the better platform.
