Fun fact. I used to play an MMO called Shaiya (great game, kinda dead now) and I met this girl (Mia) who seemed really nice, and lived about an hour away. She could never talk in Teamspeak with the rest of the guild, she said she was deaf so she just typed to us in guild chat. Long story short, after a few weeks I was like, well let's go for a beer or something. She was down.

Turns out Mia was a really awkward dude. He actually showed up and explained he had a hard time meeting friends, wanted to seem more interesting by pretending he was deaf and a girl. (Pictures were his sister....). I felt kinda bad for the dude, but it was extremely weird. We did have a beer and then went our separate ways. Never outed him to the guild.

Good on you for keeping your cool, man. Some people do some odd ball things just get by, but at least they're trying. Even if it is misguided.

I bet he spent a LOT of time going back and forth between whether or not he should show or not.

I usually get between $9/hour to $12/hour depending on the batch.

I've played a ton of MMO's and usually played male characters so I could match myself. In WoW I started playing characters based on their auto/cast animations or for racial abilities. I often played female *insert race* because of it. I always tried to have a male name though. Never had any issues. EQ I used to play male only, but now on the progression servers I play female sometimes. I've been hit on a bit.
