I remember in high school finding an old science magazine from like the 90's saying we'd have flying cars by 2010. A legit science magazine like Popular Science I think. So they didn't even know what they were talking about.

In the '90s, there was a teacher in my area who thought computers were just a fad. I'm pretty sure he was nuttier than a fruitcake.

Real talk, I've taken film classes. And from what I know from talking to teachers about both the Oscars and the Emmys, that's pretty much true. The voting academy pretty much just calls their friends and says, "Hey, if you vote for my guy, I'll vote for yours."
