My sister was visiting all week and we weren't sure if she was going to be able to head home today or not. I'm in Pittsburgh, she's in Connecticut, but her train takes her into NYC and then she hops a local train up to home. Amtrak sent a note out yesterday that trains may not be able to stop in NYC or any of the larger cities with active cases of Covid-19. She ended up taking the train, but they still aren't sure where the final stop will be.
I am hyper-aware of this because my Mom is actively going through chemo for stage 4 pancreatic cancer, my husband and father in law are diabetic and my best friend is going through immuno-therapy. All 4 are immune deficient. Fortunately the whole family understands safety measures BUT, mom and dad also mentioned "maybe we should do a quick trip to the casino this week" - NO! Yeesh.
