probably completely irrelevant but I just had a 2tb WD external crap out on me. I didn't keep it plugged in to the computer when I wasn't using it and one day went to plug it in and it just wouldn't fucking work. Gonna take it to a buddy to try to salvage my data but not sure I trust WD after this. It was barely two years old...if that.
