I've read some of the first hand accounts from the few people who made it out and other stories from people with family there and your right, it is horrific what they have to go through just to survive, especially considering how many don't.

Horrific is the right word. If they voice the slightest complaint about the regime and are caught at it they are very likey to wind up in a re-education camp for the rest of their lives. The UN should invade them and put an end to it.

That Jessica Hullman survey was much easier (and more enjoyable) than I expected. Based on the title, I expected it to require more brain power than I've been willing to part with most days, so I haven't tried to catch it until today. Guess I should learn to not judge by a title.
