I actually doesn't matter. Cash is king in the world like full of debit/credit cards. The only way to truly be protected is just to not have an account of any type and in a plastic world that is almost impossible to do.

Right before Christmas (the year before last), someone stole my card numbers from the gas pump.

I always walk in and give the card to the person at the register, now. It was a big headache to get everything replaced (and rely on cash during the holiday.............).

OTOH, my bank caught it so I lost nothing .
