I can't imagine sleeping with socks off, but I'm always cold and I'm sensitive to sensations so just the feel of the different parts of the bedding would bother me enough to keep me up. Socks are a consistent sensation.

I'm terrible about the heat (oil is so expensive)- so I keep the temp at 50 degrees at night. Socks are a must

Hola. I can't imagine sleeping with socks on. It would just feel so stifling and unnice. And my feet get cold easily but I just keep them warm tucked in the soft covers. Or if it's hot they stick out.
