In all honesty, some struggle to make anything, others have made several hundred a day. As with anything in life, you get out what you put in, to an extent. No different here really. Your earnings will likely depend on how often you can just be "hanging around" waiting for the money to be available, how efficient you are at picking up new skills, multitasking, etc. and how much effort you put into your work flow. If you want it, it's there...maybe sometimes we just don't want it as much as we think we do.

Edit* I have made as much as $95 a day more than once now, and I have managed to always make enough to pay our bills, rent, etc.

Hourly rates here are mostly spoken about in terms of time actually spent doing a HIT. In that sense I'd say to try for at least minimum wage out of everything you do.
But I feel like most people generally set daily goals rather than hourly ones.
