tea with honey, throat lozenges and heat pad. Back problems are no joke. Did you get any pain meds?
I took 800mg Ibuprofen, I've got a chiropractor appointment in an hour, so that's at least good news. I've been alternating heat and ice on my back also.

I had the dvds a while ago and finally got rid of them. I will likely end up just paying for hulu to watch them again. They have a few series I've wanted to see anyway.
We just don't get out our DVD collection. It's unpacked, shelved nicely, etc, but by the time we're binge watching whatever for the night after I've made dinner and cleaned up, and Josh is done grading, neither of us wants to get up, lose our spot to dogs on the couch, shuffle DVDs around, etc.

Damn, I sound like a spoiled millennial.

Mostly snake oil. Be careful with chiropractors.

One anecdote doesn't make an entire statement wrong.
He said it is "mostly" snake oil.

There are good chiropractors and bad ones. Once they start talking about chakras and reiki is when I know to bail out

"mostly" snake oil. some adjustments help some people some of the time. chiropracty isn't a real medical degree, it's an academic degree.

I'm sorry, this was me last week. Cold first then the stomach bug hit and I was begging for the head cold back instead. Feel better! Tea helped a lot!
There's some nasty stuff going around. Took me over a month to get over that flu. There was an article on Medscape about how the vaccine failed this year and added to the cases.

They aren't all quacks... there really are some chiropractors who are intuitive and actually do help some people... but the potential for harm is massive. That's why I said be careful with a chiropractor... they aren't a medical doctor, they are an academic doctor... classified the same way a doctor of literature is, and required to take many of the same courses to get that academic doctorate.

Pain meds are out. They won't give them anymore unless the doc wants the DEA breathing on them. I just got back from my pain doc who gave me the formula for getting of the stuff I take that my PC gave me for my back pain - replaced hip, low back surgery, etc. I decided when I got the flu that it was time since they won't prescribe anymore and the flu would mask the withdrawal. I cut what I was taking in half and now I have what I need to begin tapering off. I didn't want to do it without a doc as you can get really, really ill. I did it once 11 years ago and it was NO fun - not at all. So he sent the Rx plan to the pharmacy and I do this for a month then it takes three months for the body to get back to how it should be. But I won't get sick.
