I'm pretty sure Gale's been banned. I tried to send an email through mturk earlier and it wouldn't let me.

I am pretty sure they can not get emails through Mturk, which is why they list an email in the hits they post..

I remember someone said they tried contacting the requester from a previous name they were using, and they got a response from someone claiming to not know anything about having an Mturk account

This sucks...really hope you can get it worked out. I can really never figure Amazon's thinking out.
Perfect example: At one of the other forums, a person had their account suspended then 2 weeks later they get an email saying "Congratulations on getting your Masters". They have had a Masters qual ever since. Go figure?????
(This is a 1,000% true story)

Which is exactly why I was trying to contact them through mturk.

But when I submitted the message I got an Amazon error that the message failed, so I don't think that account is active anymore.

Curiously, I'm not able to sign on to my requester account, either.
(It has a separate balance of "prepaid HITs" which I cannot access).

My inherent distrust of Amazon (based on others' experiences) helped mitigate damages:
Never leave any moneys on deposit with Amazon for longer than you absolutely have to.
