I don't think it was any smaller than usual. I got 40 and ran into a CAPTCHA after the tenth that I didn't realize right away, still caught 30 more after they were posted here.

Yeah, There's no science behind it really. I ran a 2 second PANDA and caught 38. I wager it has more to do with your internet speed than running multiple pandas and tossing some damn chicken bones around.

Hm, I use the bones of a dead man, but to each his own I guess.

It's funny, I run 2 pc's, and I find I catch more of any PandAs, on my slower pc. I think because it's slower, 2 seconds staggers itself. Like 2.5sec, then 2.8, then 2. Who knows?
