Not this year, but one year when he was like 7 I parked my car about six blocks from his after school care. Signed him out and then told him I had been in an accident and the car had been towed and we had to walk home.

By about four blocks he believed me. I told him we were almost to a bus stop and we would ride that home so we didn't have to walk the whole way.

then we arrived at the car and I yelled "April Fools!"

I've been messing with him since he was quite young.
