Every time I hit on a girl I end up getting asked aquarium questions. Every.Time.

So, ghost shrimp are dirt cheap and so they're kept like crap most times. Who cares if a bunch die when they sell them for like 10 cents each and it's even cheaper for the stores to buy them? You have no idea how old they were, how well they were fed, etc.

That being said ghost shrimp are hardy af, I had one that lived for like 2 years in my tank. Next time you add more ghost shrimp, be more gentle with them and try acclimatizing them slowly on your aquarium instead of just dumping them in. I doubt it's water quality, because if it was bad enough to kill the shrimp everything else would be dead as well you owe me a date now.
