so, I'm running the Cap 10 K race in Austin in two weeks and have been pushing myself to go the full distance (6 miles and change) for the past month. My pace in last year's race was 11:22 and that was with me barely able to run a 1/4 mile before I had to walk (also, i was a 3 pack a week smoker then - I quit smoking this past October). Tonight I went running and while I max out at about 1.25 miles at a time, I managed a 10:50 per mile pace on a 6.26 mile run. Holy crap. I'm sore as hell. My legs hate me but I'm extremely happy with myself right now
