I like that one better. Zhe sounds silly to me when I hear/see it. But I imagine I'd get used to it if I heard/saw it enough.

I think there's a movement to add zhe as a pronoun to encompass all genders. Personally, I just use "y'all."

Using "they" as a singular isn't really all that strange. We do it all the time when we're talking about unknown people. It's only when we're talking about a specific person that we get caught up in the grammar of they/them. I say cast off these shackles and embrace "they/them/their" for those who prefer it.
