The consent form in a survey is a legal document for you to understand what's being asked of you and what's being offered by the researcher for you to be used as a human research subject. It is worded--usually-- to follow federal guidelines, since IT IS A LEGAL AGREEMENT. It should not have anything in it that is confusing or secretive, since such might be considered to negate its purpose, i.e. your agreement to be a research subject. A consent form is not a private test for a requester, in spite of what some of them may think....we shall assume that some of them do think, at least occasionally....As a side note: a while back a requester forgot and used an old consent form that offed 20.00 as payment. Some of the more sassy workers caught on and demanded the amount promised in the agreement--and received it!....now I'm off(more than usual) today and am going back to bed (an 11 hour nap wasn't enough apparently)......thank you and good nite.
