anyone know how to make MTS hit catcher announce reliably on a chromebook?

once in a full super moon, i get the announcements. there are no announcements most of the time and i have no idea why so i have to essentially keep an eagle eye on the hits queue since i get no announcements.

hit finder beeps for new hit potentials always works so its just the catcher with sound issues.
