The kid is making this difficult. I printed some pics from the 1906 earthquake refugee camps and am trying to rough them up and burn them a little to make them look authentic. He keeps wandering into the kitchen wondering what the smell is...

Good gosh it was. I researched letters written by people affected by the quake, printed out excerpts, and paraphrased their stories for his letter.

And threw in a bunch I already know about the earthquake after my time in SF. But it was a mini research project.

I was going to write a second letter just in case one of the other kid's parents doesn't write one but frak that was a lot of work. Im only doing one.

if one of the other kid's parents don't write one it'll be a more realistic experience since i'm sure not everyone made it after the quake
