Does the HIT actually take an hour and a half like they say it does in the qual HIT?

No it goes faster, although if you take time debating and discussing it can take an hour I guess. But if you get a partner that gets to the facts and are in agreement often, it moves rather quickly. I did not look at the time, but figure an hour would be about right.
