Just a thought Lumos. I have the Windows machine I am using now and a Chromebook. If either has a bad day I can keep on working. You can get a bare bones Chromebook for pretty cheap.

but also keep in mind chromebooks have limited security. they quit getting updates after a certain amount of time. my chromebook gets risky to use in june when the security updates end. i got a refurbished windows laptop for the price of a chromebook to replace my soon-to-be-risky chromebook and i'm covered until microsoft quits supporting windows 10.
