Now that I live in San Diego I still have reason to hate Los Angeles and it has nothing to do with the Padres...

The drive from back San Diego to the Bay Area to visit friends and family takes anywhere between 8 and 11 hours. That 3 hours variability is 100% due to the sucktastic Los Angeles ass traffic, which can sometimes be fine and other times it's a parking lot for no explainable reason.

my husband and i used to make that drive. but to sacramento instead of the bay. we usually drove in the middle of the night specifically to avoid that traffic.

I've tried that too and on occasion found myself sitting in traffic on the 405 at 2AM & hating life and cursing Los Angeles.
