So, a requester finally got back to me on a issue I had submitting a HIT...from the 2nd week in March.
They sent me a message on March 29th saying they got my info, everything looks fine on their side and that the only issue is their server lost contact during submission. And that was that...nothing about we'll compensate you for your time, nothing.
Today I get an email saying they had a technical issue and that my submission might not have gone through on MTurk. (Which was exactly what I told them!) They can make a "Small Compensation" HIT for me but I'm not eligible for the bonus, because the HIT is no longer being run.
WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!
(apologies for language, but I'm mildly perturbed)

Just have to vent...... Finally caught two higher paying HITS and spent almost two hours doing them only for the timers on both to expire. I'm usually pretty diligent because I get stressed when those Panda chimes go off for time expiring, BUT I didn't have my sound turned on and completely lost track of the timers.

I emailed both requesters to explain. One said they'd give me credit for partial completion, the other said they didn't know how to partially compensate and said they gave plenty of cushion time (30 min to complete with 1 hour 30 min on timer). I respectfully replied about how other requesters have set up dummy hits and then use the bonus feature - fingers crossed they figure it out.

Guess they don't realize us turkers may have our queue filled with surveys we caught before we get to theirs?

i try not to take more than 2 or 3 long-ish hits at at time because one never knows what's going to show up. Probably not the fastest way to make any money but it has saved me a lot.

There is no possible way with all the instructions, quizzes and rounds that it could take less than 40 minutes. But the bonus did pay right away at least.

I'm not sure how long it was sitting in my queue, but this is one that timer expired on me and I was actually doing pretty well on it. I spent way too much time trying to completely understand the instructions and over analyzing each result which is another reason why I ran out of time. Got to round 32 on second section. Requester replied saying it should only take 30 minutes. Guess all those instructions really didn't matter.
