Okay, so if a requester is trying to pay you with a dummy hit, but it keeps getting stolen, send them this!

Dear <Requester>

I'm having trouble grabbing the HIT you made for me. To fix this, can you please assign the hit a specific qualification that is available only to me? Here is how to do this:

First, go to this link: https://requester.mturk.com/qualification_types

and click "Create New Qualification Type"

Name the qualification and put in a description. Something like "Worker ID XXX Only." and "Dummy Hit Qualification"

Then go to this link. https://requester.mturk.com/workers/<Your worker ID> ***Note: replace <your worker ID> with your actual ID. And, you know, delete this sentence.***

Click "Assign Qualification Type" and put a check in the "Worker ID XXX" (or whatever you named it) and give me a score of 100.

Then go to the hit you already created for me and hit edit. Scroll down to "Specify any additional qualifications Workers must meet to work on your HITs:" and choose the qualification from the list. Put either "has been granted" if the qualification is for me only or put is equal to 100.

Save and then post the HIT. This makes sure that I am the only person that can pick up this hit.

It's Niv Lab, they pay out their bonuses late or never at all. I just wanted one more crack at messaging their requester account before going irb it's been almost a month now. they already confirmed what they owed me and they said they tried posting multiple hits and they keep giving me the rid of which is never up.

I'm no mathematician, but I keep an eye on the number of HITs available and the time I've elapsed each time I submit one of these. I'm guessing they'll be up for about 10 more hours, but there are so many variables that I wouldn't bet on this or anything. I'm seeing them drop by about 20/minute, which would be 1200/hour, or ~14 hours if the rate stayed the same. I think that like most batches though, as time passes it will start dropping quicker.

Regardless of my crap logic and estimation though, I would say get while the gettin's good! There's a cool store in my neck of the woods called Marden's, and their jingle is "Don't get caught saying...I should have bought it, when I saw it, at MARDEN'S!"
