Yep. That's why I have no mercy on the grading of it. It's my least favorite assignment to grade, and I tell them as such in hopes that they'll do well to avoid a cranky prof, but there always seems to be a disconnect between instruction and available resources and the final product.

Never hope for such things. I used to hold review sessions in which I would all but scream from the top of the mountain "THIS WILL BE ON THE TEST JUST LOOK AT IT AND YOU'LL GET IT RIGHT." And still 70% of the class would make easy mistakes. That 30% though really made teaching worth it, though.
