We are currently fighting with citi as well. We decided to trade our miles/points in for a $500 Walmart gift card. It took them a month and multiple phone calls to send it out. Finally arrived this week and we called to activate it and they said it would take 4 weeks to activate.
My husband is so mad he wants to cancel the whole card
Wow. That is pretty crazy considering it's your rewards. You'd think it wouldn't that long... I mean, other cc's don't even take that long usually to process rewards.
Do you think you'll end up canceling? I'm debating my options as well. Have to wait 24h for them to contact me back, but if they send such small purchases to fraud, I'm not interested in using them. I'm not sure if I should cancel the card though because of how it hurts credit scores... But then again, I am not sure what the long-term impact would be having a cc open that is frozen from fraud alert because they won't remove it.
