I would say it never hurts to learn all the coding stuff. Codecademy and that other one I can't remember are good for getting a foundation. Then there are a whole bunch of other places to learn once you have that.
Thank you. I'll look into that. I suppose it would help that I have some experience in C++ although I'd consider myself still a novice in that regard. I'm going to give code academy a look now.

There are some programming jobs you can do from home. I'd research the ones that seem most plentiful so you can pick a language and then you can stick to learning that language on Code Academy, Udemy, Treehouse, Khan, Code School, Lynda etc.

There are also some home based customer service jobs that train depending on the state you live in.
Thank you, I'm going to look into all of those sites. I have some experience (I'm a novice) with C++ and some scripting so programming would make sense for me.

Does anyone have any suggestions in terms of classes one could take online that are free, or close to free, that will let you work in a job sector in which you can work from home? Sorry if it's off topic but I've been looking into furthering my education.
Get certified for medical transcription and coding. I have seen many jobs related to that. Or get a degree in something that you can work as an adjunct professor for. This is what I am doing myself.

this hit reminds me of a guy I worked with 20 years ago. He was the actor for the re-enactments on the news. people would come to the bar, see him on the clip, then the police would show up from a "tip". lol
