script, what's that? I do it old school (probably stupidly) - type number while hovered over the submit button, mouse-click submit.
Well, they need to hurry up and pick a new topic because I need monies and the two that are up are killing me.

Circle Pay :

Been using this with Prolific. Worked for several months, since I switched from Paypal. The fees are half, and Circle is free for transfer to bank account.

TODAY.... they wanted to verify my ID, beyond the 2 bank deposits in small amounts, initially, months ago.

Their phone app, would NOT read the ID images... I've wasted about 1.5 hours and finally got my images approved. It kept hanging on the barcode on the back of your license. It refused to recognize it. Maddening.

So... I have been grooving on Circle so far. But this "oh yeah we suddenly need scanned state license or passport, and a live selfie, and it has to be live, if you send scanned image jpgs, we won't verify you..."...
not a good start to Friday morning. It's all verified now. There were many curse words.

Some report they can take weeks to verify, when they ask for additional ID. FYI.
I've been with them for over 2 years and have yet to have that hang up with them. I don't use their mobile app, though. I use their desktop site or mobile site. Worst I have ever gotten was the verification code texted to my phone to trust that device.

If they require me to upload a live selfie and driver's license I think I will reconsider using their service.

This morning I bought a pedal boat online and the company required me to scan my driver's license and credit card and FAX it to them because I am using separate shipping and billing addresses.

How in the 21st century is a FAX machine still a thing?

medical community especially depends on them. it's weird to me though but supposedly it's much more secure than sending them online?

facismile transmissions in dental/medical are still used through a fax machine. It is a lot fast than trying to encrypt an email through corporate software before sending an email.

Mornin' Folks :coffee3:

Lets have some sort of decent batch today, survey life is rough.
.. especially at 30 cents or less. Not seeing a lot of 75 cent to a buck surveys this morning.

My wife's hospital system that she works for phased out their last fax machine in 2015.

I'm sure they are secure since it is through phone lines but then it leads to a physical copy of the information and how that is then stored or controlled is kind of a sticking point for me.

I actually worked as a contractor for Ingham hospital system in Lansing, MI converting all of their documents to digital and eliminating their fax machines back in 2001/2002. Since I was working on that nearly 20 years ago it really surprises me that some places still depend on FAX tech.

I noticed a lot with smaller offices. I worked recently for a private practice and they just simply could not afford to convert to digital. When i would send or receive one, it usually to another small office.

i worked for a nationally known dental office (unfortunately) and they made you jump through so many hoops to encrypt your emails through their specific software, that it was just easier to send it through fax.

I had a friend who worked for Aspen dental and they said it was an absolute hell hole to work for.

My local dentist's office doesn't even have a computer. The receptionist is an 80 year old woman who does everything manually, including invoicing insurance with forms in a typewriter and mailing them in. It took me 8 months to get a bill from them. lol

Yea, you'd be surprised at that. We still have some people that uses faxes, but for things that have to be FDA approved they lean on it. In the process of trying to convert most of it over to cloud based faxes, but some people are reluctant as they still prefer to keep paper copies for their records.

Yeah, That is the company I was referring to. I worked for the Second largest one in the country. we saw about 80-100 patients a day with specialists to boot. Depending where your friend lives, it could very well be the same franchise I worked for. It was a total nightmare. Eventually I had to leave because I felt like a dirt bag and I felt like I was a horrible person. I went to work for a private office after them and realized that there is a true difference between a doctor who sees money and pushes unnecessary ADA codes and a doctor who truly CARES.

Next time someone asks you how you're feeling, yet you can't quite name it...

My experience mirrors yours with Circle, until this morning. 2 step authentication, every time I log in, texted code in addition to login.

I'm exclusively Circle Pay on my computer. I avoid or have used the phone app, once. I was not comfortable either, sending IDs like this.

Congrats on your paddle boat ~
