I have an IRA and hubs has a 401k, I have some individual stocks, though, and I really enjoy the whole research and acquisition process. Been eyeing Microsoft for a while and that one's prolly next. I'll probably double down on 3m, too, once all my Panera stock gets sold.

If you're trading individual stocks frequently, it would be very beneficial to do it within an IRA/Roth IRA so that you don't have to worry about capital gains taxes. (Unless you're really good at losing money. In which case keep it taxable so you can report the loss).
