Saw that too, the app does seem to be pretty popular for whatever that's worth. It has 441k ratings in the app store. I personally didn't want to link my bank account to it either though so I returned it.

I dont care how popular it is, not doing it LOL.. Unless its an app I already had it connected to. Even then to allow someone access to review that info, uhhh not comfortable.
