Erm, sorry to point this out, but it should be Schedule C self-employment income, 'other income' is not the right way to file turking income... means you've been under-paying your taxes and ought to go back and file amended returns ASAP to correct it.

You're right. We didn't list it as other. On the line item for other it's $0

Most will say to hold onto your house for about 7 years before doing anything. I'm not sure why other than you build up some equity t put somewhere else.

I've owned my house for 3 years come next month and the property value has gone up nearly $20k due to the enhancements and development in the area + brand new hospital a few miles away. Now, we just have to hope we can sell the house close to the estimate. We want to capitalize on the growth and make some sort of profit that we can put into savings so we can put towards buying property and building a house on it.

You're in the military right? You should have no problem selling if you're close to the base as the people being stationed come in.
