It was! There's a huge field next to my apartments that's filled with wildflowers and clover (and bunnies!) and the smell permeates in a wonderful way after a nice rain. All of the little birds were in a tizzy and flittering around too, which was fun to watch.

Wow. I'm envious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can always come hang out on my porch and have a cup of coffee while we watch all of the wildlife. (As long as the wasps/yellow jackets that haven't been eaten by my bird friends yet allow it.) I live in the "big city" right by Shopping Central, but this field is like having a little bit of country right next door (literally, the field is next to my building). There are geese right now with little goslings, a mama coyote that uses the little grove of trees to hide her pups when she's passed through a few times (they were born right before Halloween in the grove and are more teenagers now, but still fun to watch/listen to when they happen by and get up to no good), hawks and eagles, and butterflies of all colors. I also have a family of starlings on my porch, mourning doves on the building across from me, and tiny finches that have found their home in various nearby buildings and are always bouncing around.

I was born in the country and ache to return, so all the animal friends keep me pretty happy.
