When you start leaving the computer on and setting an HM alarm for that closed qual batch that only posts at 1-4 AM, you know you have a problem.

Get rid of it.

Being here ALL the time is the best way to get quals.
You never know when they will drop....and they are few and far between.

Any qual I've received for batches or surveys are from being on at the right time.

I am not on all the time, so it really is pure luck for me.

You can also run alerts for requesters who have quals you want. You'll get alerts for work you're not qualified for, sure, but sometimes that pays off and you get alerted to a qual hit.

maybe some people are scamming the 5's. maybe it's time for them to do a clean up of who gets to keep the qual. that could be why they are going so fast.

I'm not talking about at night, nor do I mean scramble to work on everything, but you should try to be aware when your main stuff posts, and again only if you're not actively engaged in something time sensitive.

Yea if you're running HM while you're on your "off hours" you want to mute everything that isn't paying an above average hourly.

I think of it as Mturk's version of overtime.

For people who actually care about making money:

If you're not doing something time sensitive while you're at home, but don't "plan on working," at least run a scraper once on "most available" when you first get up to see what batches are available, and have a hit monitor or finder running to notify you if something you usually/want to work on posts.

That was my yesterday. I didn't plan on working, but had left HF on by accident. Got alerted to a batch and made $23 fairly quickly.

I had an internal clock that notified me when they next batch was going to post.
