I think HITs that ask workers to find information are still fine (like go find this person's email or phone number) but they can't give you anything (like call this person at this number or look at this form and type the email into a text box).

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Honestly, I'm having trouble even thinking of any non-scammy HITs that include info like that, aside from the "Call x person/place and ask x question" type HITs.

so after sulking for an hour and a half i guess i'm ready to get back to work. I followed the usertesting.com instructions adjusted my audio settings and did a test recording

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Honestly, I'm having trouble even thinking of any non-scammy HITs that include info like that, aside from the "Call x person/place and ask x question" type HITs.

What about the transcription-y type things? Even receipts have phone numbers and addresses. Or like p9r? (No loss there, just thinking of examples.)

There's some requester that I used to do that I'm not even sure if they post anymore (Ignite, maybe?) that had audio recordings of people saying their address and email, and you had to type it into text fields. That's the kind of thing that seems to be prohibited now.

I'm curious if this came about because of that batch that had all of those Australian driver's licenses from a couple weeks ago.
