If anyone else is working on that software batch I posted earlier, just received this message from the requester clarifying a few things:

Thanks for reaching out. Yes for the description we are just looking for something general about what the software does. It does not need to be OVERLY detailed, but detailed enough to give the person looking at the process an idea of what the program actually does at a high level. This can come from the website or your own description if you can describe it. As far as the link, yes if you can link to the vendor website that is great. If you cannot find a vendor website, a site that talks about the program is fine.

Thanks for your help. Over the next several months we should be posting thousands of HITs like these.
