I haven't seen Dark Phoenix yet, but I thought the x-men movies were great as long as you don't break your head worrying about comic book time travel plot holes.

Dark Phoenix is sadly a much, much weaker story arc without the context of its time period. According to the internet, the movie fails not only at providing that context but much of any at all.

I've seen about 10 minutes combined from all of those movies and I noped out pretty quickly. I just don't like fantasy because its a genre where you can make up any BS you want and it doesn't have to make sense

You're talking about bad sci-fi and fantasy. Good sci-fi and fantasy create worlds where the rules are different from ours but the story is still bound by those rules so the stories remain internally consistent. Bad sci-fi and fantasy are inconsistent in their rules and will pull deus ex machina out of thin air anytime they write themselves into a corner.
