If I attempt to 'panda' something, and it says there are no more hits...
and I then attempt to search for the requester name, and there is nothing available, does that mean the hits have all been used up, and setting up for that panda in TM is pointless?

you can keep the panda running and it will pick up the hit if it becomes available again, but currently there are no more of that hit left, no.

Yes, that means it's gone at the moment, but a lot of things just pop up randomly one at a time or in small numbers and are gone before they ever even hit the search page. Even if something is gone, it's not pointless to try to catch it if and when it pops up. That is the idea.

It's often not pointless to set a panda. Say , for a survey. Or for batch hits that are popular and are currently posting. Some batch hits have a "capped" amount each of us can do, and when we hit that cap we return all in our queue, and that's when someone else's panda can pick them up.

I often catch a survey I set a panda for in the morning that evening. Or I come in late on a good batch, set a panda, and catch quite a few others have returned.

You just kind of have to learn which hits are worth continuing to panda and which aren't. Surveys I always panda for at least a day (the decent surveys that is.)
