You can go on the Reddit MTurk sub and see countless posts of people putting bullshit answers for questions on HITs because they think it's funny. It's so upsetting when you actually have to depend on this platform to make a living. I really, really wish Amazon did a better job at teaching requesters how to deal with those people.
Well, I mean, you're dead-on right, but if effort was put into professionalizing (or re-professionalizing as some would tell it) the platform, you'd aggro a lot of people who are putting up with the current mess.
One of many things that should be done and probably won't be.
Also personally I wouldn't call it a living, but I realize for some people it is (and the A->B of that is complicated).
I still wish I had found mTurk 9 years ago, not that it would have changed the situation for anyone but me.
