every time I go to mcdonalds I order and pay and then later go back and ask how much a toy is and they always just give it to me

It's that tight top. Wouldn't work for me, not even when I was young and, well, young. I'd never think of such a thing. I had my standards. Now when I'm oldererer and don't have any standards, it still wouldn't work, 'cause I'm old and well, old. And most eating places have standards.

So, completely unrelated to work griping. We've been having a weird, unpleasant smell in our apartment for weeks, got the owner to call a pest control place and the guy comes goes into the crawlspace and says there's a broken sewage pipe underneath the building. Fantastic.

Next day plumber comes out and looks under the house and says "yep, you're going to need to call another company to come drain this". Yes, thanks, we knew that and you should have as well since we told you about the pool of literal crap forming under the building, but thanks for the input I guess.

So the guys come to do the pumping, are very professional and pleasant, then when they give the owner the estimate he says he's going to shop around and sends them away.

So we've got a lake of sewage forming under our building and the owner is dragging his feet on it to save 10 bucks. And we get to have another crew come in here later today to check it out and give him a new estimate.

But I have to wonder if there are health aspects and a timeline your landlord has to adhere to?

I'm pretty sure raw sewage constitutes a public health hazard so I'd imagine he can't let it go on too long, but I'm more irritated about having to deal with multiple people from different companies while he makes up his mind

I think we should be able to like our own posts. Occasionally one says something that's actually useful and you should be able to approve it. 'Sides maybe no one else wants to like it and you can make up for that blaring and accidental lack.
