You still above water? Watching the coverage on the NY Times - WOW!
My house won't flood (across the street - maybe!). People are posting pics of just a .5 mile from here and it's a flood.

There's some water down in the basement, but it's not too bad. I'm scared to look out back (my old stone walls are all tipping, anyway. They've been up for 100 years or so). Those could fall :(.

Pics are being posted online and it's a mess around town. And it's still raining. Hard.

I'm on a main street. and not near the center of town - where I would be surprised if they still have power (and if they do - that they keep it).

Our downtown, if you google a pretty pic - will show where our two rivers meet - the Connecticut and the West River. There are buildings right on the river and if it floods. Jeepers. It will be a mess. I am hearing reports of some minor floods on the streets down there now.

The water closer to me is a brook (across the street) and it's flooding. It will empty about a mile from me - into those large rivers (well, if it makes it, lol). I'm up high and won't flood like that. Across the street? They will have more problems. People are posting pics about that :(

It's not a proper tropical storm less'n it rains for at least a month. Tropical Storm Allison circled Houston for three months. Yes 3 months!. Flooded all those tunnels and basements full of big generators under downtown Houston. 'Cause who needs flood gates in Houston? By the bayous. Houston, The Bayou City.
I still haven't gotten over the idea of basements in the swamps.
And then there was all those lakes, rivers, ponds, etc flooding all around. With broken oil lines pouring oil, gas, etc onto the flood waters. Imagine it! Houses, with nothing but the roofs in sight...on fire. 'Cause why? Well, why not? It's Texas, ain't it?

I was down in FL for a lot of hurricanes.

This is more akin to a tropical storm. Down south, this would just be a kind of bad storm. Texas could easily handle this much rain.
Up here, nothing is able to absorb that much saturation.

All the boats at the marina are still tied to their docks. And the docks are rolling down the Connecticut River :(
