I bumped my goal up to $10 (thanks to the forum as well) but I don't beat myself up if I only get to $6, because some days are just rough. So my minimum is always $5 but I strive for $10, yesterday I made $18. I'm patiently waiting till I get 1,000 hits submitted so that more opens up for me. I'll probably up my goal then too.

Why are they bad?

I can't imagine doing the hit with only one monitor. Even with multiple monitors, it's very difficult to multitask with the HIT (whether you're trying to catch others, etc). You need to focus and pay attention and in the end ... it's ~$11/hr

It's uncommon but there has been some surveys that'll pay you even if you get screened out.

That's how I'm approaching it, slowly and carefully as the pros suggest. But truthfully I am shocked at how the slow start is really adding up now, and I LOVE IT - even though some hits suck...

Oh, and congrats on the baby. Mine's 8 going on 18 (oy)

Why are they bad?

They really aren't bad. You just have to decide whether you can find more than $11 in other work in the time it would take you do to that HIT, since you can't be searching while you do it. I think there is also a followup that isn't as bad. If you don't have Masters or closed-qual work, or something else lined up, it's still worth doing that one.
